I haven't heard of anyone having this batch yet, do you have it or is it the one they're currently selling? papayarose may know something. Hmm not sure if I've managed that link correctly.

Thank you for your response. I am about to purchase, and having observed on this site that a lot of people have been having problems with certain batches, thought I may as well check out before I hand over my dosh.

Hi Margo,

I don't take T3 myself but I'm sure I've read on the forum that if you message SeasideSusie with the info she can tell you privately if that's a supplier that others have used etc or had problems with. All done via private message I think.

Hope I've got that right? 🥴

Hedgeree, Yes you're correct about private messaging SeasideSusie for info on specific T3 suppliers. But Margo is asking about a particular batch f Thyroid-s, which is an NDT. I suspect Margo is using a trusted supplier that she's used before.

Just taken a look at your page, it's extremely helpful. It mentioned the batch I am already on, and there no problems with it, I second that, Batch TA21089. Thanks again.

It's the start batch number that matters. All TA21 seems to be fine it's the TA22 that has changed. I think that the 21 is 2021 and the 22 it 2022 manufacturer date i.e. year.

Margo profile image
Margo in reply to Brightness14

Hadn't thought of that. I seem to be ok on the ones I have (21) and I might have a problem with the new ones.......I need to give this some thought. Thank you

I noticed a difference in the batch 22 just as I opened them up after seven years it's something that you use everyday and know what they are like. These never smelt the same, different colour and shiny just to start with. Then after 40 odd days on the 22 ones and falling over and low FT3 as I had some of the old 21 left I finished them off.

After only 10 days then I ran out and I was able to go for a 3/4 hour walk. I wondered then if all the 22 were wrong and ordered two more lots from the different suppliers and did an experiment, none of the 22 ones worked. At the end of the forty days on the 22 ones in September I had to be helped up stairs and kept falling over.

I think you are answering my question Brightness, I think it would be too risky to spend good money on these. I am ok till the end of 2023 on my current batch. But wanted to be sure that I would have some NDT if things go pear-shaped in the world. (Jacinda Arden in New Zealand is making it law that all supplements/medications must have a prescription and wondering if the same will apply to us in the UK eventually). I have never tried Levo' and T3 and don't really fancy it, however I might not have any option.

That said there are other NDT's out there. Have you tried any other makes?

During lockdown my usual supplier of Thyroid s was out of stock so I ordered Armour NDT which was very expensive. I was only on it for about 6 weeks and then back on the Thyroid s. I found it slightly less effective but it was new to my body. I still have close to 300 x 60 mcg and about 70 x 30 mcg left over. That's why I am trialling myself on Levo plus Armour top up. Today I have taken 100mcg Levo and 30 mcg of Armour.

It will take a few weeks to add in a 60mcg Armour to the mix then I will be able to fell if it's working. Less expensive 1 x Armour per day.

Yes the first two numbers denote the year of manufacture, but there were complaints about those made in 2021 as well. You can see this on the chart which I'll link to. I also remember years ago a supplier in I think Poland, now long gone, putting up a YouTube video complaining about Thyroid-S having changed and being useless and mentioning several other suppliers. Generally taking everyone down! It alarmed many of us at the time but I continued with it and it was the same as usual.

What we do now know is that sometimes the manufacturer will tell people what the potencies/percentages are of certain batches. Those percentages can change within different batches made on the same day with the same batch of thyroid extract. That means that the amount and ratio of ingredients is not exact. It simply has to fall within a (fairly wide) range and some of us found this exact problem a few years ago with Nature-Throid. If you have a batch at -11%, then later buy one at +11% and switch straight from one to the other, it will be noticeable.

My concern is that the most complained about batch has been 21079, and even that had its fans. We need a comparison between 21079, 21089 which some of us are doing well on, and the latest 2022 batches which are still fairly new and without many comments. Recent changes to selling have made asking questions rather difficult, but needless to say some of us are considering what to do, because we're all in the same boat.

About three months ago I posted regarding all batches changing since 2022. Prior I was on Thyroid s for over seven years and feeling well. The tablets have changed colour and have been reformulated too. So far I have purchased 3 different batches each from 2022 and from three different suppliers. None of these work the first lot FT3 going from 6.06 to 2.36 in forty days. The others are about the same. One lot was purchased direct from the manufacturer too, I complained but never received an answer. I always took 2.25 grains every day split into to lots. After becoming ill and falling over I had a blood test and my FT3 is much to low without a thyroid. It's been over three months now and I had to start medication all over again. I am now on Levo 125mcg. I intend to add a half of Armour later to see if that helps. Sorry to sound negative I just wanted people to be aware, especially if they are new to NDT

Thank you for your response, I remember your situation very well.

It's very hard to know what to do, what is ok for one person isn't for another, which was why I thought I would post as I am about to purchase some more NDT. I am still not sure quite what to do, as these pills do not come cheap.

I have taken on board what you have written. Thank you. Let us al know how you do with Levo+NDT please.

Exactly they are not cheap, Armour being so expensive too. I did try Levo plus T3 but it's too fast acting for me. I will let you know if my idea of Levo plus a half or one Armour may work.

Brightness, how long did you give the T3, as a trial? And did you experiment with timing a la all at once versus split?

I am so sorry that your new batch of Thyroid S did not do the job for you, frustrated for you.

Brightness14 profile image
Brightness14 in reply to Litatamon

Well I posted a question and one of the admin team who I won't name gave me instruction on my 2.25 grains NDT to Levo plus T3.

Of course it was to much T3 18 plus T3 and it made me very ill. The I tried 6.25 x 3 throughout the day. The T3 in NDT is a much slower release. I have Cynomel 25 mcg tablets. These cannot be cut into eight they crumble. Yesterday I was desperate and managed to take 1 x 6.25 T3. I have now been ill for months and at my age of 76 it's not good. l am only here today because all my life I have lead a very healthy life style this has helped me keep going. My poor body.

Okay Brightness - I am so sorry for all that you are going through - I was hoping your new batch of Thyroid S would take you right back. I was asking because my latest Thyroid S bottle was seized & by coincidence just before (Thank God) I saw a new endocrinologist who offered me Cytomel plus Levothyroxine or NDT (no one would give me a prescription prior, I almost fainted!?!). My level needed of NDT is crazy expensive here (Canada) so I went with the t3/t4 with a promise if it did not go well he would still do NDT.

I was prescribed a 25 mcg tablet and I felt horrid even in small amounts (6.25) for the first week or two. And then at some point I literally stopped doing small amounts split through the day and took the entire amount prescribed early morning and I have no awful repercussions from the t3 anymore (have some that I know are Synthroid).

Since my body just naturally settled over time and in one dose simply wanted to make sure you gave it a sustained go at it, just in case. I would have sworn it was not for me at all. The initial feelings were not good.

I miss Thyroid S immensely. Despite horrid labs I felt the best on it.

All the best to you - you are in my thoughts and hope you get it all squared around soon.
